Fees & Payment Policy

Our Billing Philosophy

At Ashburton Podiatry, we are committed to providing thorough, unhurried, and highly personalized clinical care. To maintain this standard of dedicated, one-on-one time with our principal podiatrist, our practice operates under a private billing model.

We do not offer direct bulk-billing. Payment in full is required at the time of your consultation.

Fee Structure Transparency

Because every foot condition is unique—ranging from standard skin management to intricate biomechanical analysis or structured diabetic risk assessments—fees vary based on the clinical time and complexity required for your treatment.

We believe in complete financial transparency. Current consultation fees will be gladly provided to our patients upon booking or request. If you would like to confirm the exact fee for your upcoming appointment, please contact our reception team directly, and we will be happy to assist you.

Information for Patients with GP Referrals (EPC / CDM Plans)

We welcome patients managed under a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan—formerly known as an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) referral—arranged by their General Practitioner.

Please note the following important policies regarding these referrals at our practice:

  • Not a Bulk-Billed Service: Consultations under an EPC/CDM plan are private billing services and require payment of our standard private fee on the day of your treatment.

  • Claiming Your Rebate: After your account is settled, we will provide you with a detailed, compliant receipt containing our practice's Medicare Provider Number so you can seamlessly claim the standard Medicare rebate.

  • Direct Rebate Processing: For your convenience, if you present a physical debit card (linked to a savings or cheque account) at reception, we can process your Medicare rebate instantly through our terminal so the funds are deposited directly back into your account on the spot.

Private Health Insurance (HICAPS)

If you have extras cover with a private health fund that includes podiatry, you may be eligible for a rebate. We provide on-site HICAPS processing. Please bring your physical or digital health fund card to your appointment so we can claim your benefit directly, leaving you only to pay the remaining gap.

Cancellation & Attendance Policy

To protect our clinic schedule and ensure we can offer timely appointments to patients in acute discomfort, we require notice for any appointment cancellations or rescheduling. Please, no later than the morning of your appointment. Failure to provide adequate notice may result in a cancellation fee.
